Sorry, I've had a major case of summer and have neglected the blog! I've been continuing to fly and take aerial classes.
I've done flying trapeze lessons in Los Angeles and New York and am really getting good. In LA I worked on my split and made the catch. It was so beautiful to fly with views of the mountains and beach during sunset.
My first class in NY was great I really became comfortable with the take off. The instructors there are amazing and really helped me with my technique. I worked on a straddle whip which is the first trick I've done that has a blind catch.
This past weekend I got my unassisted take off down and getting height and power off the board. I did both a whip and hocks off and caught both tricks. Hocks off is a level two trick, I'm really excited to be advancing! Here are both the trick and the catch, the catch was a little sloppy.

Unlike flying, I've been progressing slowly in aerial class. I hope that one day I'll have an Ah-ha moment and just get the tricks I've been struggling with. I'll get them...one day. Once summer is over I'm going to try to get to the gym another day a week for open practice. We've been working a lot on standing tricks like Spider, Stag, Dead Hang, Airplane, and Raja. Last week we did Coffin, Tree Creature, and Gazelle. I'm determined to get Rock and Roll and Upside Down X soon.
